How we planned and prepped the session

- A concept and a statement gown. We wanted bold and editorial, so we searched together and found the perfect royal blue satin gown on Etsy, chosen specifically for its very long train. That train is what creates the dramatic, sweeping movement in the photos.
- Accessories that complete the look. I picked up a cobalt blue statement necklace and matching earrings to tie the whole palette together against the green ferns and the blue of Hood Canal.
- Professional lighting. I brought my assistant to run off camera lighting so we could shape beautiful light on Anahi even as the sun dropped, keeping her glowing while the sky behind her went dramatic.
- Timing the light. We scheduled around golden hour into sunset so the beach and mountains lit up for the hero shots.
- Comfort and fun. Anahi brought her best friend along, which kept the whole evening relaxed and full of laughter. A comfortable, happy subject always photographs better.
